Hands Up.....

Mollys Musing-How good do your nails look Hands up....those who want to look their best!

Hands...of course we take them for granted - always there to do stuff - always 'handy'...So ten out of ten to our hands for versatility.

But, because we expect so much of them, do they always look good? Have you ever considered what your hands and particularly your nails say about you?

Are your fingernails dirty? Do you have ragged nails? Or maybe you see nails as a fashion statement and like to sport some on-trend nail art? Perhaps just straightforward clean and tidy nails are more your style?

Do you nails get hammered

Last week I popped into my local chemists. I had to ask one of the assistants to help me find something. She was smiley and helpful and these are both (often rare) qualities which I rate highly in a shop assistant and reflect well on the company. However, when she handed me the item, I could not help but notice her chipped nail polish. Surely better no polish than tatty polish. It’s just not a 'polished' look!

Some employers do actually have requirements for their employees' nails, either for hygiene reasons, for example in catering positions or, in the business world, to achieve a well-groomed and professional look. For example I know of one supermarket that requests that only non nail-biters should apply to work there.

Anyone doing dirty work - gardeners, mechanics and such - can simply give hands and fingernails a good scrub at the end of the working day can’t they? Of course, but they can also tidy their nails and add a slick of hand and nail protector.

So, put simply, doesn’t a bit of attention to your hands and nails show that you care about yourself and the impression you make?

Whoever you are, whatever you do, Manicure Sets for Women* has further hints, tips and products to help you look after your nails - and look your best.

I recently saw on the TV news a lady filling samosas with her bare hands (some others were wearing gloves), and she was wearing nail polish. This used to be a definite no no in any catering establishment, didn’t it?

I use the term ‘wearing’ loosely as her nails were almost nude the polish was so badly chipped. I don’t remember much about the news report, I couldn’t see past those horrible nails!

My best tip for nail care is to wear rubber gloves when washing up (or better still, get someone else to wash up).

Interesting article, totally agree about giving your hands and nails the attention they need! Nothing worse than having chipped nails!
